The Baroque church which stood on what is now known as náměstí T. G. Masaryk was destroyed by bombers during the Second World War. A new church had to wait until the mid-1990s – with important help from local believers.
Some local citizens will tell you that the new Church of St. Wenceslas has “stolen” the town’s only large square and others say they will never allow it to happen again. Whatever the case, the building, designed by Ludvík Kolek, cannot be missed.
